In a group of 4, our goal was to make a series of 3 posters to advertise Ramune. Our work was divided in specific roles, where mine was to design the posters. Our work prior to that was a lot of research, that being the brand identity, target audience, creating moodboards, and preliminary sketches.
Ramune is the most popular drink in Japan and is a Japanese pop culture icon.
They have unique marble function at the neck of their glass bottles to help preserve carbonation; they ensure a fresh, bubbly taste once the marble is pushed.
They offer one of the widest ranges of soda flavours (more than 50), from typical fruit flavours to teriyaki, yogurt, and more.
Understanding Ramune’s younger target audience, their fun bubbly image, we wanted to make sure we emphasized that in the design. We also wanted to showcase their unique marble-popping mechanic with their bottles. Therefore, the final decision was to make a series highlighting the steps a consumer takes to enjoying Ramune soda; Popping the marble, drinking it, and discovering their flavours, hence, “Pop, Drink, Collect!”. Each poster is vibrant, fun, and explosive like Ramune.
