Given an Op Art artist, Getulio Alviani, the goal was to advertise their artwork for a Museum exhibition, bringing it to life through animation. The main challenge was to stay true to Getulio Alviani's work while combining this interpreted idea at the same time.
Getulio Alviani's work is calculated, precise, and mostly focused on line work.
He often used metals to create his pieces as well, which meant the majority of his art was monochromatic.
I wanted to respect this style but give it a twist. I decided to incorporate the process of bringing his work from the 60s to a digital world. I wanted to create a narrative of finding his work, as if we’re playing a found tape.
The main challenge is to balance the glitch and his aesthetic, making sure Getulio Alviani wasn’t lost into my interpretation.
With lots of experimentations and thanks to his inspiring art, every scene was based on work he’s done to make sure there was a constant link to him. The visuals were paired with a melancholic yet fitting electronic song, complimenting the glitch effects, while the melody nodded a reminiscent feel to Getulio’s impact during his time.
